China-Israel Technology Cooperation Summit Held in Xiamen

The 2016 China-Israel Technology Cooperation Summit was held in Xiamen on September 5-7, 2016. Jointly organized by the China Science and Technology Exchange Center (“CSTEC”), the Organizing Committee of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (“CIFIT”) and the Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute (“IEICI”), the Summit aimed to deepen China-Israel cooperation in innovation and promote the combination of China-Israel cooperation with important international exhibition platforms.

As an important event of the 19th CIFIT, the Summit attracted more than 60 organizations, including ICL, Mer Group, renowned research and education agency IDC, and other tech companies, incubators and investment funds from Israel. It showcased more than 120 advanced Israeli technologies in modern agriculture, health care, smart city, clean energy and other fields. There were lively and fruitful exchanges at the Summit. More than 300 Chinese companies, including Unisplendour Group and Shanghai Pharma exchanged one-to-one with Israeli enterprises.

At the opening ceremony, CSTEC Director Sun Hong congratulated, on behalf of CSTEC, on the successful staging of the Summit, detailed the current status of China-Israel cooperation in innovation and expressed his high expectations of enterprise cooperation between the two sides. Subsequently, Israeli Consul General in Guangzhou Nadav Cohen, IEICI Deputy Director-General Shauli Katznelson and Mr. Li Huiyao of the Xiamen municipal government also attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Nava Swersky of IDC Herzliya, Trendlines Chairman Todd Dollinger, Unisplendor Executive Vice-President Zhang Yonghong, Shanghai Pharm Vice-President Shu Chang and other well-known entrepreneurs also made keynote speeches and shared their experience of innovation, investment and incubation cooperation. The Summit won unanimous recognition from all participants and was a complete success.

After the Summit, CSTEC Director Sun Hong and IEICI Deputy Director-General Shauli Katznelson held talks. Both sides affirmed their respective work and achievements in China-Israel cooperation and made useful discussions on cooperation in the future.
